Permanent Location For RoboCop Statue Under Negotiation

DETROIT (WWJ) – A group planning to erect an 8-foot-tall bronze statue of the fictional crime-fighting cyborg RoboCop in Detroit is hoping to reveal its location next spring.

A project coordinator says the team is “making sure it’s done right.”

Negotiations continue for a permanent location. The group raised more than $67,000.

RoboCop was a 1980s film set in a futuristic and crime-ridden Detroit.
