Alleged Carjacker Killed During Robbery Attempt

DETROIT (WWJ) – One person is dead, one is in custody after an alleged attempted car jacking Monday evening on Evergreen, near Santa Clara, on Detroit’s northwest side.

Sgt. Eren Stephens with Detroit public information tells WWJ, this happened around 8:30 p.m. when a 42-year old man was driving down Evergreen between Six and Seven Mile and was approached by a 19-year old, who allegedly demanded the man to give up his vehicle.

The driver of the vehicle pulled a weapon and shot the man, who was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver, who is also the victim of the attempted car jacking, has been taken into custody.
