LEDdynamics and Ilumisys Announce Partnership

TROY -- Ilumisys Inc., the Troy-based developer and producer of solid-state lighting technology, announced that it has partnered with LEDdynamics Inc., based in Randolph, Vt. The partnership includes a license for the patents of Ilumisys parent Altair Engineering Inc. on light-emitting diode fluorescent tube replacements.

"LEDdynamics is an established industry leader in solid-state lighting, and we look forward to working together to address the growing market demand for LED lighting solutions," said Dave Simon, president of Ilumisys.

"This partnership offers a unique opportunity for both LEDdynamics and Ilumisys to expand U.S. manufacturing operations and leverage our combined engineering capabilities," said William McGrath, president and CTO of LEDdynamics. "We have been committed to 100 percent U.S. manufacturing for over 10 years, and are excited to work with Ilumisys going forward. We believe that this partnership will result in increased market share, and strengthen the ability of both companies to develop and manufacture the most innovative, high quality LED products and technologies available."

Ilumisys, formed in 2007, is a spinoff of Altair, a global software and technology company that has a growing presence in the energy market.  With the backing of Altair, its majority owner, Ilumisys has a deep and substantial investment in research and development that includes more than 50 patent applications filed to date.
