Arm Severed By Boat Is Found

SANFORD (AP) – Authorities say a man’s arm that was severed by a boat’s propeller while he and his son were tubing on Sanford Lake in Midland County has been found.

The Midland Daily News reports that 33-year-old Nicholas Bowers’ arm was found Sunday afternoon by people fishing south of the Sanford Lake Park boat launch. His arm was severed Aug. 1 at the lake about 110 miles northwest of Detroit.

Authorities had searched that day for the limb without success, and Bowers had been hospitalized. The accident happened near Sanford Lake Park.
