Detroit Fire Destroys 2-Story Apartment Building

DETROIT (WWJ) - An apartment fire on Detroit's east side is under control.

The fire seems to have taken out most of the 2-story apartment building on Springle near Mack and Conner.

Crystal Gardner was visiting family when she saw the fire.

"We say the police...helping some people get out of the building, and we saw a couple of people jumping out of the windows," said Gardner.

Although there were no official reports of injuries, EMS units were on standby.
