Michigan Receiver Stonum Will Redshirt (UPDATED)

Michigan senior wide receiver Darryl Stonum will redshirt the 2011 season, coach Brady Hoke announced Sunday, according to Wolverines RapidReports.

Stonum had 49 catches for 653 yards and six touchdown last season, but he has been suspended since being arrested for DUI in June.

The Wolverines reported to camp Sunday, and Stonum had been listed on the roster. Michigan opened preseason practice Monday.

"While it would be great to have Darryl on the field this season, we feel it is in the best interest of our program and for him to redshirt," Hoke said, according to RapidReports. "Darryl will continue to be part of our team and our family. Our No. 1 priority is for Darryl to grow as a person.???

Hoke also announced that punter Will Hagerup is suspended the first four games and wide receiver Terrence Robinson is suspended for the first game for an unspecified violation of team rules.
