LENOX TOWNSHIP (WWJ) – Two Pontiac men have been charged in connection with a shooting in Lenox Township on Sunday, July 31.
Macomb County Sheriff Tony Wickersham said 18-year-old James Chambers is charged with assault with intent to murder and three other counts in an apparent drug transaction at night on Forest Road near 30 Mile Road.
“Sometime during the course of the transaction, there was an argument and then, at which time, one of the suspects in the vehicle that came to get the marijuana opened fire and shot into the vehicle, striking the driver,” said Wickersham.
Chambers is being held on $300,000 cash bond. Wickersham said 20-year-old Travez Duncan has been charged with conspiracy to commit larceny.
The victim, a 22-year-old from Richmond Township, has been released from the hospital.
Police are still searching for the third suspect, described as a black male. The three were driving a white mid-size SUV – possibly a Land Rover or Ford Explorer.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Macomb County Sheriff’s Office at (586) 469-5151.
