Comerica Park Prepares For Kid Rock Concerts, Block Parties
DETROIT (WWJ) - Comerica Park is prepped for a party, Kid Rock style.
WWJ City Beat Reporter Vickie Thomas spoke with fans Sarah Love and Ray Burdict of Redford, who were at the Fox Theatre to pick up their VIP tickets.
"I'm very excited. We go, what, twice a year to see him. He puts on a great concert," Love said,
"I just like the energy of the show. Everybody just seems to have a good time. He does a portion in every show where he tells you to look around and shake hands with the person next to you and it just kind of brings everyone together and its a really good time," Burdict said.
The VIP Pack, which cost over $200, came with a limited edition Kid Rock Detroit Tigers jersey.
Gwen Affer of Warren is ready to rock out with Kid, but not before she hits the block party, which begins at 2 pm Friday and at noon on Saturday.
"He must be doing something, or else the people wouldn't be wrapped around the building. I just love him. He's real and he's just Kid Rock. There will never be another one of him."
The block party features a 10-story tall ferris wheel, midway games, Kid Rock karaoke, mechanical bull, food vendors and of course, plenty of Badass Beer. There's also giveaways, including Badass Beer swag, Made in Detroit merchandise, two Badass Beer guitars and a pair of VIP tickets for each night's show. And anyone is invited, even those without concert tickets.
