DIA Hosts Bicycle Tour Of Art In Romeo, Rochester

DETROIT (WWJ) - Put on your bicycle best and join a pedal-powered tour of 14 reproductions of paintings from the Detroit Institute of Arts (DIA) on Saturday, Aug. 13. The tour is part of the DIA's Inside|Out program, which brings life-sized reproductions of paintings from the DIA's collection to outdoor locations throughout greater metro Detroit.

The tour begins at the Rochester Farmer's Market, located at 3rd and Water Street, at 10 am. Avid cyclists can join DIA staff in Romeo, who will leave from the Starkweather Arts Center, 219 N. Main Street, at 9 am to ride to Rochester.

After seeing the seven works in Rochester, cyclists can have lunch in Rochester or head to Romeo, where the bike tour will resume at 1:30 pm at Westview Orchards & Cider Mill, 65075 Van Dyke at 30 Mile Road. The tour will finish at the Starkweather Arts Center by 3:30 pm.
