Detroit Man Accused Of Killing 2 Men In Dice Game

DETROIT (WWJ/AP) - A 46-year-old Detroit man has been charged with killing two men in a dice game during a 24-hour period in which gun violence left six people dead and nine wounded around the city.

Wayne County prosecutors said Monday that Antwan Labron Chase was charged with two counts of first-degree murder in the shootings early Saturday of fellow Detroiters 35-year-old Delrico Henley and 38-year-old Bradford Walton. Authorities say Chase also was shot and treated at a hospital.

Police say the spate of shootings happened at nine locations between 6 a.m. Friday and 6 a.m. Saturday. Detroit Police Chief Ralph Godbee, Monday, said he hopes to double the number of officers on the streets during the typically busy overnight period.

Meantime, the violent weekend in the city has community leaders and activists ready to fight back. (More on this, here).
