Total Security Solutions, the Fowlerville-based manufacturer of bulletproof glass, Monday announced an expansion and new hires.
The significant capital improvements entailed doubling its plant size to 24,000 square feet and investing more than $80,000.
Total Security Solutions also added four new people to its manufacturing and installation teams. The company plans to add additional sales staff in the coming months.
“Overall, Total Security Solutions has been growing and we needed more space, more equipment and more staff,” said company president Jim Richards. “While most of our competitors specialize in one area of bullet proof glass manufacturing, we can draw on the manufacturing talent in Michigan to offer more diverse services to our clients. Versus focusing the business on steel or aluminum or millwork, Total Security Solutions works with contractors, architects and business owners to manufacture, start to finish, the exact glass they want to fit a design idea.”
To meet client demands for a one stop manufacturer, Total Security Solutions added new equipment to its wood shop and welding area. A new water jet cutting system, vertical panel saw and metal presses were added as part of the company’s expansion.
Total Security Solutions has experienced tremendous growth in aluminum frames and steel works manufacturing over the last year.
The company’s growing business also led to capital improvements in its shipping operations, including new racking and a new product packing line.
“Increased manufacturing capabilities aren’t valuable without increased packing and shipping capabilities,” Richards said. “Total Security Solutions took a holistic approach to its expansion, and, as a result, is primed for sustained business growth.”
Total Security works with banking, retail, municipal and other clients, delivering a range of products. From custom bulletproof glass to deal trays and security windows, Total Security Solutions offers quality, value and security.
