Police: Masked Robbers Tied Elderly Woman To Bed
BLOOMFIELD TWP. (WWJ) - A home invasion in Bloomfield Township ends with an elderly woman tied to her bed and the crooks making a clean get away.
Bloomfield Township Police tell WWJ a group of masked men broke into an 85-year-old woman's house near Hickory Grove and Telegraph roads between 2:00 and 3:00 am Wednesday.
Police say a group of four or five masked men broke into the home as the woman was sleeping and tied her to the bed with duct tape and plastic zip ties. Then, the thieves ransacked the home, making off with the woman's collection of silver flatware and other valuable items. Investigators believe the robbers followed the woman to her home earlier in the day and broke into the home through the back door.
The woman was not seriously injured.
Authorities are urging neighbors to be on the look out for any suspicious activity, as the suspects remain at large.
