Hundreds Expected At Detroit's 'Jobs! Jobs! Jobs!' Expo
DETROIT (WWJ) - Are you hoping to find a job? There are plenty of companies hoping to hire people at a big expo Friday morning in Detroit.
WWJ City Beat Reporter Vickie Thomas spoke with Monica Anthony, Director of the Freedom Institute which puts on the annual "Jobs! Jobs! Jobs!" job fair. She said this year's fair moves from COBO Center to a new location.
"Jobs! Jobs! Jobs! fair will be at Fellowship Chapel. So, it's a little different, bringing it up town. People are so used to having to go downtown and to the suburbs and that's a lot of effort for some people. As we talk about regional transportation, which is apart of the weekend as well."
Anthony said job candidates should dress to impress, because it could just be their lucky day landing that dream job.
"Typically, there are on the spot interviews. Definitely. We're expecting that this year we'll have about 20 entities to be here to do some of that hiring."
The job fair, which is part of Freedom Weekend X, gets underway at 9:00 Friday morning. Fellowship Chapel is located on West Outer Drive on Detroit's west side.
