Post Office May Shutter 17 Branches

DETROIT (WWJ) - The doors could soon close at up to 17 post office branches in southeast Michigan, as the U.S. Postal Service continues to struggle with its finances and the ever-decreasing mail volumes.

The Detroit Free Press reports ten offices are being looked at for closure are in Detroit, with other locations in Ferndale, Pontiac and Highland Park.

Officially, the Post Office says no final decision on closures have been made.
