Police Make 2 Arrests In Roseville Drive-By
ROSEVILLE (WWJ) - Roseville Police have two people in custody in connection with a drive-by shooting that left a 10-month-old boy in critical condition.
Deputy Chief James Berlin confirmed the arrests, but said they are not yet releasing the name of the suspects, a woman and a man.
"We believe that we have the actual shooter in custody, and a person who acted as a getaway driver for the shooter," he said.
The baby was asleep with his mother Saturday night when several shots were fired through a front window. The mother was not injured. The baby, who was shot in the head, is expected to survive. Police were looking for a high-caliber handgun used in the shooting.
Tuesday, the baby was reported in good condition.
The two suspects are scheduled to be arraigned 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, at which time their names will be released.
Monday, the mother's 27-year-old ex-boyfriend was questioned by police and released. He was reportedly involved in a paternity lawsuit over the child.
