T-Mobile Dealer, Foundation Launch Outreach Program For Kids In Need
T-Mobile USA retail partner Wireless Vision and the Kids In Need Foundation have unveiled “T-Mobile’s Got Your Back,” a “Back to School” community outreach initiative providing backpacks to a select elementary school of students.
During the month of August, when a customer activates a new T-Mobile line in any metro Detroit T-Mobile store owned and operated by Wireless Vision, a backpack will be donated to a child in need. In addition to Detroit, Wireless Vision’s “T-Mobile’s Got Your Back” program is also taking place this month in St. Louis, Chicago, and Columbus, Ohio.
On Tuesday, Aug. 30 from 7:30 to 9 p.m., in the gymnasium at Gee White Academy and Elementary School in 5161 Charles St. in Detroit, the backpacks will be distributed to kindergarten through eighth grade students at the parent-student orientation to kick-off the 2011-2012 school year.
In addition to the efforts by Wireless Vision, T-Mobile is donating school supplies to the students of White Elementary.
The Kids In Need Foundation, on behalf of its organization and Wireless Vision, will donate any remaining backpacks to other Detroit area schools.
“The Detroit market is very important to us,” said Saber Ammori, Wireless Vision CEO. “We’re headquartered within the Detroit metro area and we are always looking for ways to give back to this community.”
Brigette Jackson, vice president and general manager of T-Mobile’s Michigan-Indiana region, added, “It is such a great feeling to have our dealer, Wireless Vision, help families get their children ready for a successful school year. We look forward to seeing the smiling faces of the students of White Elementary later this month.”
Wireless Vision LLC operates more than 100 T-Mobile and T-Mobile Limited stores in seven states, including Michigan. The company is based in Bloomfield Hills.
