Waterford Police Search For Driver Who Hit Bicyclist

WATERFORD TWP. (WWJ) – Waterford Township Police are looking for a driver who hit a bicyclist on Williams Lake Road.

Police say a tan or gold colored Lexus hit the biker just after 8:30 pm on August 11. Witnesses told investigators the driver swerved off the road and hit the bicyclist with the mirror area of his car.

The 43-year-old victim, who is from Waterford, said the driver stopped and talked with him and even offered to pay for the bike, but then drove away when he said police were going to be called.  He has road rash-type injuries, according to police.

The license plate of the car involved was JEH 941, but police say that was not a valid plate.

Anyone with information is asked to call Waterford Police at 248-618-7527.
