ALC Hosted Telecommunications Helping Companies Get 911 Compliant

CHESTERFIELD TOWNSHIP -- Autumn Land Hosted Telecommunications Co. Wednesday announced its partnership with Montreal, Quebec-based E911 Enable.

Autumn Land said the partnership will help ensure that Metro Detroit organizations are E911 compliant.

Pending legislation in Michigan may require all businesses, schools, and hospitals to be E911 compliant as early as January of 2012. Currently, 17 states have passed E911 legislation.

ALC Hosted Telecommunications will work with organizations to ensure compliance.  Michigan's proposed E911 legislation obligates operators of PBX equipment to route 911 calls and precise location information to the appropriate local Public Safety Answering Point when 911 is dialed. The proposed legislation requires that the location information sent to the PSAP must indicate the precise location of the caller (e.g. to the building, floor, room level, or any other user-identifiable area). This location information must specify an area no greater than 7,000 square feet in size.

Autumn Land provides hosted telecommunication services, eliminating the need for expensive on-site equipment and technical support. Hosted applications help to reduce cost, provides a simpler product to use, and assists organizations in keeping up to date with current technology. The company also provides audio, video, and web conferencing, mobile unified communicator software, professionally recorded messaging on hold, and hosted auto dialing (phone tree). With the push towards a more eco-friendly workplace, hosted telecommunications is the perfect fit for reducing unnecessary travel while still realizing the benefits of high touch relationships with customers.
