Reward Offered For Tips In Death Of Detroit Teen

DETROIT (WWJ) - Crime Stoppers is offering a $3,500 reward for information leading to the arrest of whoever is responsible for the death of a 19-year-old Detroit man.

According to investigations, Colin Wright was shot, execution style, in the back of the head and then set on fire in a stolen Chevy Equinox on August 6 on

Pinehurst near Plymouth on Detroit's northwest side.

Milek Mims is the family spokesman and cousin to Wright.

"[He was] real smart ... come from a good home, good family. Both sides of his family, mom's side, and father's side, good family, was raised right," said Mims. "Sometimes ... as a young man, and I've  been there ... we might pick the wrong friends sometimes, but that don't mean that he was doing what they were doing."

Mims said the family is asking for the publics help.

"This crime is just getting so bad in the city, it's heart wrenching when you hear all of these young kids, they haven't even lived their lives. And their lives are being taken by these fools out here," Mims said.
