Apparent Chainsaw Accident Kills Man In UP

REPUBLIC TOWNSHIP (AP) - A 44-year-old Ohio man has been found dead in what police are investigating as a chainsaw accident near Marquette in Michigan's Upper Peninsula.

The Marquette County sheriff's office says the camp owner was found about 11 a.m. Friday in Republic Township, about 30 miles southwest of Marquette.

Deputies say the man may have slipped while trying to cut overhead branches near the property. The saw landed on his neck and chest.

The man from Chagrin Falls, near Cleveland, was wearing protective headgear with a face shield.

No foul play is suspected. The case remains under investigation.
