California Inventor Plans Battery R&D In Farmington Hills

A California inventor has announced the acquisition of a new research and development center in Farmington Hills that will advance battery technology.

Hardge Industries LLC and Hardge Research and Development LC are part of Hardge Investments LLC of Temecula, Calif. According to the company's Web site, Hardge is working on several inventions, from a dog collar that alerts its owner to dangerously hot or cold conditions via remote alarm to an advanced fire extinguisher to a new design for baby strollers.

According to the company, however, it will work in Farmington Hills on battery technology. Hardge says its advance "has the potential to enhance all electronic devices, such as stereos, radios, computers, and medical devices. An additional office located in Temecula,

The new Farmington Hills office is at 23035 Commerce Drive in Farmington Hills. The companies also have a location at 3588 Plymouth Road in Ann Arbor.

Hardge Investments also announced its new CEO, Larry Wright, a former General Motors Executive who has launched and operated five companies in Michigan.
