Man In Critical Condition After Crashing Into Semi Truck

STERLING HEIGHTS (WWJ) - A 21-year-old Armada man is in critical condition after his car became lodged under a semi truck.

Police say the man was driving a Mitsubishi Eclipse north on Mound Road around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday night when he tried to turn right on 18 1/2 Mile Road. Police say the driver lost control of his car, slid across all the lanes and became lodged underneath a semi truck that was sitting at a stoplight on westbound Mound Road.

The man was extracted from his car and taken to Mount Clemens Regional Medical Hospital where he was listed in critical condition.

The 33-year-old Clinton Township man driving the semi truck was not injured.

Investigators say they believe speed was a factor in the crash.
