Train Blocks Multiple Intersections For Hours
ALLEN PARK (WWJ) - A commuter's nightmare unfolded in Allen Park as police say a train blocked four intersections for over two hours Thursday morning.
Allen Park Police say a train was stuck on the tracks blocking the intersections of Champaign, Wick, Pelham and Goddard Roads, which is a stretch of a mile-and-a-half.
Traffic tipsters say the train stopped moving before 7 a.m., adding the same thing happened last week, but for not as long.
WWJ Traffic Reporter Terry T. Brown said the train slowly started to move again around 8:45 a.m., but that it would take about 45 minutes for traffic to clear out.
Allen Park Police tell WWJ that there's really nothing they can do about it; they aren't allowed to ticket the railroad company.
