ROYAL OAK — RTT USA Inc., a provider of real-time three-dimensional visualization software and services for product design and marketing, and Critical Mass, an Omnicom digital marketing agency, have completed an industry first for Nissan Commercial Vehicles: an online configurator tool called the Van Visualizer.
The Van Visualizer — a collaborative effort between RTT, Critical Mass, Adrian Steel and Original Wraps — enables Nissan Commercial Vehicle shoppers to design and customize their ideal van with drag and drop functionality.
Exterior graphics and interior components can be tailored for buyers’ professional needs. For example, plumbers can specify drawers, florists can select bins or electricians can install shelving. Users can pick from a package tailored to their business or start from scratch and save their results.
RTT developed and rendered rich and realistic visuals of the vehicle and its parts. Critical Mass directed the creative process aligned to support Nissan’s “Innovation that Works” brand message.
“It’s always a fulfilling process to work collaboratively with other companies to achieve the client’s goals to support their brand,” said Peter Stevenson, co-CEO, RTT USA. “The Van Visualizer is a successful example of a product that creates a truly customer-centric experience.”
The Van Visualizer is integrated with dealerships and the upfitting and graphics vendors, so that users can not only design their van, but drive it off the lot with the customized features in place.
“Based on our heritage of designing customized experiences for consumers, we know that configurators are all about empowering people — giving them options and the ability to create a vehicle that truly matches their needs,” said Amanda Levy, senior vice president and group director, Critical Mass. “This tool enables professionals with very specific requirements to visualize their ideal vehicle and then go ahead and build it with a few clicks of the mouse. The rich interface and ease of use underscore Nissan’s commitment to leveraging digital to serve their customers.”
