Compuware Launches New Report Series On Application Performance
DETROIT -- Compuware Corp. (Nasdaq:CPWR) Thursday announced the launch of the Compuware Gomez Application Performance Monitor, a series of reports that will provide impartial data and trend information about the current state of Web, non-Web, streaming, mobile and cloud application performance.
The monitor, which will be published regularly, analyzes many dimensions of application performance including user behavior, the composition of modern applications and the adoption rate of new technologies across the modern application delivery chain. The observations and analyses are an aggregated view of data across a wide variety of companies, geographies and technologies.
The inaugural issue of the Gomez Application Performance Monitor is focused on key application performance trends that can have an impact on online businesses including the impact of page load times on abandonment and conversion rates, the growing complexity of applications and how dependent they have become on outside sources like third-party providers, and the performance differences across multiple browsers and smartphones.
Some key application performance data trends uncovered in this report include:
* As page load time increases from one to five seconds, user abandonment rates increase by 40 percent;
* A one second delay in response time reduces conversions by 7 percent; and
* An average of eight different hosts are needed to deliver content for a user to complete a typical transaction
