Badly Decomposed Body Discovered In Wooded Area

ROSEVILLE (WWJ) - An autopsy has been scheduled for Friday on the body of a man who was found Thursday afternoon in Roseville.

Roseville Police say around 4:30 p.m. Friday, officers discovered the man's badly decomposed body in a wooded area near 13 Mile and Utica. Investigators say the man was found lying down as if he had gone to sleep and failed to awaken.

Lying near the body, police found a duffel bag and other accoutrements commonly carried by the local homeless, leaving them to believe the man may have been a homeless individual who was using the area as a makeshift bivouac.

Police believe the man died of natural causes and do not suspect foul play. The Macomb County Medical Examiner will make the final determination as to the cause of death.
