DETROIT (WWJ) – The Michigan Humane Society (MHS) is teaming up with PetSmart for its National Adoption Weekend, to be held September 10 and 11 at PetSmart locations across North America.
To help more animals find loving homes, MHS will hold off-site adoption events around metro Detroit that weekend. During the last PetSmart National Adoption Weekend, more than 15,000 animals across the country found their forever homes.
The adoption events will be held at PetSmart locations at the following times and locations:
Saturday, Sept. 10
- Dearborn: 5650 Mercury Drive, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Rochester Hills: 2724 South Adams Road, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Sunday, Sept. 11:
- West Bloomfield: 7260 Orchard Lake Road, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Chesterfield: 51347 Gratiot Avenue, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
MHS is also offering special adoption pricing during National Adoption Weekend. For a limited time, all dogs and puppies are $150, while cats and kittens are $10. The dogs and cats have been spayed or neutered and received age-appropriate vaccinations. All cats have been microchipped at no additional cost. Adopters are encouraged to bring all family members, including dogs, to meet the potential new member of the family.
The adoption process mirrors that at MHS’ three adoption centers. Adoptions are on a first-come, first-served basis. (Learn more)
