NOVI (WWJ) – One city in Oakland County is making it easier for electric car drivers to stay charged up.
The city of Novi has recently installed two electric vehicle charging stations; one at the police station and another at the library.
The charging stations will work with any electric vehicle or plug-in hybrid on the market.
Any charging station attached to a network will allow a driver to locate a charging station and to find out if it is in use.
Once plugged into the network you can get a text update or email telling you when your car will be finished charging.
The charge runs $3 per charge.
The city of Novi received a grant
The charging stations were made possible through a grant awarded by the ChargePoint America Program, which is funded in part by the United States Department of Energy, as part of the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act.
