Lawrence Tech named to Military Friendly Schools list: Lawrence Technological University has been named to the Military Friendly Schools list for 2012 compiled by G.I. Jobs magazine. The list honors the top 20 percent of colleges, universities and trade schools that are doing the most to embrace America's veterans as students. Lawrence Tech offers a 15 percent tuition discount to all active military, inactive, reserve or retired military. The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs has designated Lawrence Tech as a "Yellow Ribbon School" for providing up to $5,500 per year towards that program for qualified veterans. According to G.I. Jobs, the colleges, universities and trade schools on this year's list prioritize the recruitment of students with military experience.  The 2012 list was compiled through extensive research of more than 8,000 schools nationwide, including a survey of military veterans. This is the third consecutive year that Lawrence Tech has earned this distinction.
The newly redesigned website, www.militaryfriendlyschools.com, features the list, interactive tools and search functionality to assist military veterans with their school decisions.
