In a sense, the Lions had little to gain and much to lose on their trip to Tampa Bay Sunday.

While they remained a slight underdog, the betting line moved toward their favor last week — an indication many people were expecting them to win.

In early September, the heat and humidity in Florida is stifling. Despite being a young team with a promising quarterback, Josh Freeman, the Buccaneers were being overlooked — even though they compiled a 10-6 record last season (the Lions were just 6-10) And the Bucs must have had revenge on their collective mind. It was a late-year overtime loss to the Lions that essentially knocked the Bucs from the playoffs last season.
