No Charges For 3 Detained At Metro Airport

ROMULUS (WWJ) - No charges will be filed against three people who were detained for questioning at Detroit Metro Airport. Two F-16 jets were sent to shadow the Frontier Airlines Denver-to-Detroit flight Sunday after reports of suspicious activity.

Passenger Kathryn Row said she was terrified.

"We just heard that there was some unusual activity up in the front of the plane; that people were ... a few people, three I guess, were going to the bathrooms and spending a lot of time there and acting very suspicious," Row said.

The FBI told WWJ Newsradio 950 that two men and one woman on Frontier Flight 623 were questioned and released Sunday night.

Investigators said one of the men felt ill and went into the bathroom while the other man headed there at around the same time.  Police said the three were sitting in the same row, but weren't in the bathroom at the same time.

Their lengthy absence from their seats attracted the attention of the flight crew.

The last of the 116 passengers on board the plane were dropped off at baggage claim around 7 p.m..
