Dearborn Heights Man Murdered In Front Of Family

DEARBORN HEIGHTS (WWJ) - Two suspects who murdered a Dearborn Heights man in front of his family are still on the loose.

The 40-year old victim was shot in a struggle during a home invasion on Brooklawn Wednesday night.  WWJ Newsradio 950 spoke with Dearborn Heights Police Captain Jeff Sepenko.

"The electric power was disrupted to the home and when the home owner went outside to check he was confronted by two armed individuals," said Sepenko.

"They pushed their way in the home, demanded money from the family. There were several minor children in the home at the time, along with the wife and several minor children," he said.

The man was fatally shot in the neck and his wife was also injured.

"We've spoken with the entire family ... they're devastated and, obviously, that's a horrific to have to witness your father being shot, so they're having to deal with that," Sepenko said.

Sepenko said they are following some leads but are still seeking suspects and witnesses in the case.
