Tips Sought In Case Of Missing Detroit Couple

DETROIT (WWJ) - The families of two missing people are seeking help from Crime Stoppers and the public.

Police say all they're getting is false leads in the case 52-year-old Randall Childs (pictured) and his girlfriend 50-year-old Karen Young. The pair has not been seen since June 7 when they left Child's home in the 3,000-block of Grand River in Detroit.

Family members are baffled by their disappearance and insist that neither one of them would leave without contacting family.

Child's sister, Sharon Murray, spoke to reporters on Thursday.

"My birthday is three days before his and we always have contact and celebrate," said Murray. "I did not get a phone call for my birthday nor for his."

Leesha Young is Karen's only daughter.

"As the other family said, how hard it is to lose a loved one. But just to be in limbo and not knowing one way or the other ... at this point it's been over three months and I just need closures," Young  said.

A $1,000 reward is being offered for information that helps police locate Childs or Young. Anyone with information about the couple's whereabouts its urged to contact Crime Stoppers of Michigan at 1-800-SPEAK-UP. You can also text your tip to CRIMES (274637).
