Attorney General: Apts And Hotels Can Ban Use Or Growing Of Marijuana

LANSING (AP) – Michigan’s attorney general has issued an opinion saying the owner of an apartment building or hotel can prohibit the use or growing of medical marijuana anywhere in the building.

Bill Schuette says in the opinion that the owner of an apartment building, hotel or similar facility can ban the use or growing of medical marijuana anywhere in the building.

The Republican Schuette says the medical marijuana law , approved by voters, would not prevent an apartment or hotel owner from banning the drug.

He says the law needs clarification, while medical marijuana advocates say he’s trying to make it more difficult to get and grow the drug.
