Hell Looking For Parade Of Hearses

HELL, Mich. (WWJ) - It will be one hell of a weekend in Hell!  Funeral coaches from far and wide will converge on the Michigan town in an effort to break a world record.

WWJ Newsradio 950's Marie Osborne has the latest from the small town that boasts 72 residents that hopes to set a new record this weekend as they kick-off their high season; Halloween.

"This is one of our most favorite times of the year," said Diane of Screams Ice Cream owner.

Hoping to establish a Guinness Book of World Record for the longest line of hearses ..."We expect more than 50 hearses ... coming from all over the country, a lot of them are trailed in, from out of state, many of the people come in costumes ... it's pretty exotic," said Diane.

In addition, in a time when most small towns are struggling, Hell is capitalizing on it's name in a wholesome way.

"It's meant to be fun, everybody has a good time, everything here in Hell is geared toward family," Diane said.

The magic number of hearses in the parade needed to break the world record is 50 - and the residents of Hell hope to make it into the record books this weekend.
