He's going to be speaking Wednesday about secrets at Oakland University on Wednesday September 21, 7pm, at the Oakland Center. It's free.As a sort of prelude to the event, people are anonymously posting their secrets on the Oakland University website. Some of these posts DO break your heart.
One reads: "All he wants is sex with me to get back at his girlfriend for cheating on him."
Another says: "Some babies suck on their thumb and eventually they stop. I didn't stop sucking."
Another: "You don't deserve it, so how come I still cry over you."
Yet another: "In my world, silver linings don't exist."
Here's the one that really got to me: "I can't afford a grave marker at your grave and it kills me every day. You're my dad...you gave your best for me."
This is heavy-duty, beautiful stuff.
