2 In Hospital After Head-On Motorcycle Crash

INDEPENDENCE TWP. (WWJ) – Oakland County deputies are investigating the head-on collision of two motorcycle riders in Independence Township.

Police officials report a 20-year-old and an 18-year-old, both of Lake Orion, were riding motorcycles on undeveloped property south of Maybee road near Clintonville about 7 p.m. Saturday evening.

The two riders collided head-on approximately one mile off the roadway.

Both drivers were taken to Pontiac Osteopathic Hospital. The 18-year-old male is listed in guarded but stable condition, the other driver is listed in stable condition.

Both drivers were wearing a helmet and protective clothing.

Police are still investigating the accident but report that alcohol does not appear to have been a factor.
