Crooks Road Project Nearing Completion

OAKLAND COUNTY (WWJ) - After months of slowdowns, backups and detours, a road project in Oakland County is almost finished. WWJ Newsradio 950's Gary Lundy has an update on the Crooks Road project.

In less than a month, motorists will once again be able to drive along Crooks Road north of 14 Mile. Since May, the Road Commission for Oakland County has been busy relocating a 20-inch water main, adding a center turn lane, replacing old traffic signals and updating crosswalks in the half-mile project.

Spokesman Craig Bryson says the $3 million project should be completed by October 14th.

The biggest challenge has been rain delays, but Bryson says the work will be done on time, and all those construction cones will be gone.
