Detroit Media Partnership Releases iPad App For Detroit News, Free Press

DETROIT -- The Detroit Media Partnership has released new iPad applications for The Detroit News and Detroit Free Press.

These free apps, available for download at Apple's App Store, give users the latest news, including sports, automotive, business and entertainment headlines from Michigan's largest news gathering organizations.

Global Positioning System technology provides users with localized weather and traffic updates based on their current location.  Each app is also fully integrated with Facebook and Twitter, making it easy for users to share content.

"This is just another example of our commitment to serve readers in ways that are convenient to them -- and to help advertisers reach the broadest possible audiences," said Joyce Jenereaux, president of Detroit Media Partnership. "These apps make it simple and convenient to stay connected with what's happening in Detroit and Michigan. It's literally right at your fingertips."

Detroit Media Partnership manages the business functions of the Detroit Free Press and The Detroit News.
