Former Red Wings Great Has New Career Off The Ice

DETROIT (WWJ) – From a hardcore hockey player … to Hardcore Pawn. One of Detroit’s most popular players during his time in the NHL has a new gig.

WWJ’s City Beat Reporter Vickie Thomas found former Red Wings great Darren McCarty wheeling and dealing at American Jewelry and Loan in Detroit. It’s his second week on the job.

“This isn’t a stunt or a gimmick or anything like that,” McCarty told Thomas. “I’m literally like working here.
