Syma Style: Host At The Swan For Life Cancer Foundation's Fashion Show

"Swan For Life has Syma for life."  That was the promise I made to the organizers of this wonderful foundation on Saturday.  I hosted the organization's Fall fashion show at the Great Lakes Cancer Institute in Clarkston. 

I met Dr. Farid Fata on National Cancer Survivor's Day, when he requested I make an appearance.   

I know cancer well, unfortunately.  My mother is a breast cancer survivor, so I had many things to talk about that day.

The Swan for Life Cancer Foundation provides support and resources for cancer patients, survivors, their family and friends.  It got its name from an experience Dr. Fata observed while treating a patient with ovarian cancer.  Her husband was fully committed to supporting his wife during her cancer journey. The swan symbolized their relationship; graceful, beautiful, dignified and most importantly, committed partners for life. Their relationship was the inspiration behind The Swan for Life Cancer Foundation. Because of her husband's unwavering support, the patient was able to maintain a positive attitude, dignity and strength throughout her journey with cancer.

I am very supportive of the Swan for Life mission, so of course I said "yes" when they asked me to host the show!

The fashion show raised money for the organization.  It was so much fun to be a part of!  The clothes were awesome! At moments it was hard for me to concentrate and focus because I was too busy looking at the outfits and not my notes. 

Luckily for me, the audience was too enamored by the fashion to even notice!

The clothes were provided by Buckle, Bonnie & Clyde, Tom James and Body Boutique.  The jewelry was provided by Waterfall Jewelers.  If you shop at these retailers, go and thank them for being a part of something that is so helpful to the local community.

Just to let you know, I didn't leave empty handed.  I purchased yoga pants from Body Boutique after I saw it on a model!
