New Control Applications Software From Wineman Technology

SAGINAW -- Wineman Technology Inc. Wednesday announced Inertia, a software add-on for NI VeriStand that provides an integrated control solution for test cell applications.

NI VeriStand is a software environment for creating real-time testing applications more efficiently, and by using NI VeriStand with Inertia, control engineers can easily create and execute real-time control applications including dynamometer and servo-hydraulic test systems.

The NI VeriStand test environment provides real-time model execution, stimulus generation, data logging, and hardware input-output connectivity in a configuration-based environment. Up until now, to implement multi-axis or multi-mode control systems that are typically required in test cell applications, engineers had to develop and maintain custom features for NI VeriStand. Now with Inertia, engineers can take advantage of ready-to-use functionality including control display templates, control groupings, and procedure commands designed specifically for physical control systems. Inertia ultimately helps engineers rapidly configure and deploy control systems by allowing them to get systems up and running quickly without in-depth programming knowledge with a proven system deployed on more than 100 applications.

"We are constantly developing specialized equipment, sensors, actuators, and electronics for high-technology systems," said Michael Condon of General Atomic. "Inertia gave us the flexibility and customization we needed to test a very unique actuator with very unique requirements. Our final application exceeded our requirements and was on budget and on time."
