Brady Hoke: We Need To Start Better
Michigan head coach Brady Hoke on Thursday's Stoney and Bill show talked about the Wolverines' offense slow starts in the first three games of the season: "I meet with the seniors every Sunday and every Thursday and I always ask them 'what do you guys think?' The first thing [senior tight end] Kevin Koger said this week was 'we gotta start faster'. At first, you've got to give your opponent credit, because they're going to scheme and do things, and that happens a little bit. At the same time, I think the offensive staff and [co-ordinator] Al Borges have done a nice job of adjusting to how people want to defend Denard [Robinson] and how they want to defend the pro-style attack and all those things".
Michigan has scored zero first quarter points in its first three games. It's been a different story in the second quarter, as the Wolverines have scored 41 points in those games. Hear Hoke's take on that -- and more -- in the podcast below.
