Roseville Optometrist Charged In Teen Sex Assault

ROSEVILLE (WWJ) - A Roseville optometrist has been formally charged with sexually assaulting a teenage patient during an eye exam, and there may be another victim.

Roseville Police said another alleged victim has now made a claim against 29-year-old Danny Brikho, a staff optometrist at LensCrafters in Roseville's Macomb Mall.

Brikho is accused of touching the 16-year-old girl's mouth with his penis. Investigators said he put three drops of medicine in her eyes and told her to keep her eyes closed for several minutes. The teen said she opened her eyes when she felt something touch her lip, and found the optometrist standing on a chair next to her with his pants down.

Roseville Police Detective Brad McKenzie said Brikho told another story.

"The doctor made a statement to police that he was adjusting a vent at the time," McKenzie said.

Brikho has been charged with two counts of sexual assault.

Brikho stood mute to the charges when he was arraigned Friday afternoon.  A not guilty plea was entered on his behalf.

Brikho was posted a $2,500 bond and was released. He faces a preliminary exam next month.

The judge ordered that he have no contact with the girl.
