Vickie Winans To Hold "Estate Sale Of The Century"

DETROIT (WWJ) - It's your chance to own a piece of Detroit's "first family" of gospel music. WWJ City Beat Reporter Vickie Thomas said all next week, gospel singing sensation Vickie Winans will be holding an estate sale.

Listen to Vickie's interview below.

"I'm having it because, I feel like I'm a whole estate myself, I've got so much stuff," Winans said.

Things for sale will include things like furniture from a condo she just sold.

"After fully furnishing the condominium, I said OK, this doesn't make any sense. So, I got all of the stuff and brought it back and it's just in storage."

She'll also be selling about 30 fur coats, jewelry, hand bags, TVs, studio equipment, furniture, pots and pans... you name it.

"I have tons of CDs and I'm just going to just about give them away. I mean like 20,000, 20-30,000 CDs of mine, because of the record company."

And for those thinking Winans is selling her items because she might be in a financial crunch, she says "think again."

"A financial crunch? Girl, oh my god, no, no, no, sweetie. I'm trying to make a movie, I'm going to make a huge movie," Winans said. "This is like my fifth one and I've been out here in Bloomfield Hills for 20 years and this is my fifth one of these. No, no financial crunch here. I'm still doing 200 shows a year."

The estate will be held Monday, Tuesday and Friday at her store in Lathrup Village (28801 Southfield Rd.) and Wednesday and Thursday at The Upper Room in Detroit (23821 Grand River Ave.).
