Police Arrest Man Wanted In Teen Sex Assault
AUBURN HILLS (WWJ) – Auburn Hills police have arrested the 35-year-old man accused of having sex with a 14-year-old girl.
Lt. Thomas Hardesty said Darius Stovall was arrested in the area of Woodward and the Davidson Freeway in Highland Park Wednesday afternoon, following an anonymous tip to Crime Stoppers. Stovall was taken into custody without incidet.
Lt. Casimir Miarka said Stovall met the teenager at a mall and became friends with her. About two weeks after meeting the girl, he took her to his apartment on March 8. Miarka said that's where Stovall gave the girl some alcohol and they had sex.
Stovall is charged with third-degree criminal sexual conduct. He remains at the Oakland County Jail on a $10,000 cash bond. A preliminary exam is scheduled for Oct. 4.
