TORONTO (AP) – Darren Helm and Patrick Eaves both had a goal and two assists in the Detroit Red Wings’ 4-2 preseason victory against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Saturday night.

Detroit’s Justin Abdelkader and Tomas Tatar also scored and Ty Conklin made 20 saves for the win. The Red Wings (3-3-1) were 3-for-6 on the power play and won the second half of a home-and-home series after losing 4-3 in overtime on Friday in Detroit.

John-Michael Liles and Joey Crabb had Maple Leafs goals. James Reimer stopped 22 shots in a shaky start. Toronto (4-4) went 1-for-4 on the power play. Maple Leafs center Mikhail Grabovski left after the first period and didn’t return.

The teams were scoreless in a sluggish third period and totaled eight shots.

Toronto will open the regular season on Thursday at home against Montreal. Detroit will host Ottawa on Friday.
