HOLLYWOOD (WWJ) – In its second weekend of release, “Dolphin Tale” took the top spot at the box office. Warner Bros.’ family-friendly film brought in $14.2 million.

Coming in second place behind “Dolphin Tale” was Brad Pitt’s latest big screen effort, “Moneyball,” which earned $12.5 million. In third place: the 3D version of Walt Disney’s “The Lion King,” which brought in $11.1 million.

While the reissue of “The Lion King” continues to pack theaters, fans will also be able to watch the best-selling home entertainment release of all time in high-definition Blu-ray and Blu-ray 3D. Both formats will be available in stores on Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2011.

The Blu-ray release of “The Lion King” will mark the first time the much-loved movie has been available in any format since 2004.
