Terry Foster: I Was Robbed

I stood before 900 screaming people awaiting the announcement of the winner of Dancing with Our Local Stars at the San Marino Club in Troy. Some were calling my name as I held hands with my dance partner Melissa Rollins.

I believed our hustle was a winning performance. The crowd believed the same thing. When I walked off stage after our dance, one of the professional dancers hugged me and said, "We just saw the winning performance." So I stood there in anticipation of the trophy that never came. I got robbed and now I seek revenge on Oct. 15 during a second Dancing with Our Local Stars event at the Townsend Hotel in Birmingham. I plan on winning, or at least finishing in the top three.
I thought I had a winning performance a few weeks ago, but didn't finish in the top three.

Mrs. America Annette Kelly won the event. I have no problem with her. She actually has a dance back ground. Fox 2 reporter Amy Lange placed second. I have no problem with her. She worked her routine since July and was wonderful.

Macomb County Prosecutor Eric Smith placed third. Now this is the guy I target. I was better than him – way better and I would love to meet him anytime and anywhere in a dance off. We can do it in public for charity. We can do it in private for bragging rights. I will beat this man one on one with my lovely dance partner Melissa Rollins.
So it sounds like I am talking mess. Why didn't I beat him before when I had the chance? It was all politics. Smith is the Macomb County Prosecutor. Well, guess who was on the three-person panel? It was none other than Macomb County Executive and Smith's good buddy Mark Hackel. And you can bet he gave his pal high marks to finish third.

He had to. I found out later that one judge voted us second. My guess is Hackel not only placed Smith ahead of me but voted us way down to allow his pal to collect a trophy.

I want a rematch and I am even willing to venture into Macomb County, on enemy turf, to do battle. The only thing I ask is that Hackel not be a judge.

I am not mad. I just want to get even.

I got more moves than Eric Smith. I got more soul than Eric Smith and I move my feet better than Eric Smith. He got me the first time. I will get him this time. Let's go big fella. Let's do it for charity. Let's do it for fun and let's do it for the people.

And if I lose I will leave Metro Detroit for parts unknown. OK. That is taking it too far. I ventured back to my Big Time wrestling days as a kid.
