Marijuana Grow Operation Busted In Monroe County

BEDFORD TWP. (WWJ) – Investigators in Monroe County say they’ve uncovered a huge marijuana growing operation at a home in Bedford Township.

The Monroe County Sheriff’s Department said they were tipped off that a house on Telegraph Road, about two miles from the Ohio state line, was doubling as an illegal pot farm, and conducted a raid Tuesday evening.

Assisted by officers from the DEA-Toledo Task Force, investigators confiscated over 115 fully matured marijuana plants inside a fabricated greenhouse area of the home. Officers also located areas for drying and cultivating the marijuana for sales and distribution inside the home.

During the raid, investigators entered a garage where they encountered a 25-year-old Toledo man near a loaded shotgun with additional ammunition and body armor. A handgun was also located inside the residence.

Investigators detained two additional suspects at the scene. One suspect, a 52-year-old Toledo man, was arrested an lodged on unrelated charges.

An investigation is ongoing.

Such a complete waste of time and resources. Marijuana should be legalized and taxed. The police end up with the best stuff anyways.
